Planning a party or looking for a private function room in Birmingham city centre?

The Rectory could be the perfect venue for your get-togethers and celebrations.

From as few as 30 guests to as many as 120, the private rooms at The Rectory could suit your needs for many different occasions, whether it be a family birthday, office party, corporate networking event, product launch, or almost any other get-together you’d like to celebrate, all with private bar facilities available for the exclusive use of your party. Please note that we don’t accept bookings for 18th or 21st birthdays, children’s parties or baby showers, or for commercial events where tickets are sold or an entry price is charged.

If you haven’t seen our function rooms already, we’d always recommend coming down to take a look at what we have to offer and discuss your specific requirements (call us first to make sure they’ll be someone on hand to show you around).

Our private hire options are based on evening parties requiring both room and private bar - we don’t accommodate room-only events and we don’t permit outside catering.

The first room is suitable for parties of up to 30 guests, perfect for intimate gatherings, although not available as an option on Fridays and Saturdays where minimum numbers requirements apply.

Both rooms combined have a capacity of 120 and provide a great space to get the most from any event. All our regular room hire pricing is based upon events of up to 5 hours in duration. Additional hours are at our discretion and will incur an hourly surcharge.

Room hire costs vary between weekday and weekend events and there are different requirements for premium dates such as Bank Holiday weekends and events in the weeks up to Christmas; these are detailed separately.

Room hire charges*

based on an event of up to 5 hours:

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday events :

For up to 30 guests, one room, with private bar facilities £95.

For between 30 and 120 guests, both rooms with private bar facilities £145

or free if a buffet is taken for at least 50 guests.

Friday events :

Require a minimum number of 75 guests, up to a maximum of 120 guests,

both rooms, with private bar facilities £245  or free if a buffet is taken for at least 75 guests.

A bar extension to 1am is an additional £55 if required.

Saturday events:

A minimum number of 100 guests are required.

Both rooms, with private bar facilities £245, a party buffet must be taken for at least 100 guests.

Doorstaff are engaged for the duration of the event, this is charged at an additional £35 per hour.

A bar extension to 1am is an additional £55 if required.

Booking & Payments:

We require a deposit payment of £100 (or the full booking cost if less) to secure the room.

This payment is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Full payment is required at least 21 days before the date of the event. If a buffet is taken, this also requires full payment 21 days before the event.

* A different tariff is applied to Bank Holiday weekends and November / December events.

Events over 5 hours:

Functions over 5 hours in duration are taken entirely at our discretion and incur additional room hire costs of £35 per hour. In addition door security will be required for the entire duration of the event (minimum £35 per hour for every hour). A returnable bond may also be required.
